U.S. regains seat on UN human rights council
Congratulations to the US of A this week for successfully winning its seat back on the United Nation's Human Rights Council. [

Granted, we won it by default when Italy and Spain dropped out of the running, but take heart; there was plenty of back room dealing and scheming going on too. We rule!
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like there was any affect on this even when we lost our seat on the council. The core of foreign policy transcends partison lines, and as long as free trade and the assumption that the US must maintain both its role as a global superpower and its prerogative to use force to "protect" its interests, this is never going to change.
