I think the verdict had less to do with his actual guilt and more to do with the possibility that L.A. would have been destroyed by major riots had a guilty verdict been handed down.
In my next life I want to be black, rich and famous. My ass would get away with everything.

its not as if they could really put him into the general prison population, that probably gave them all a headache wondering what to do with him. its not as if house arrest will be too much hardship.
i also want to be black(ish), famous and loaded. get away with anything you want then.
if your next door neighbour was a 45 yr old sleeping in the same bed with kids not related to him you would call the police. he's got to be guilty of something besides stupidity

I would highly doubt the jurors in the case had enough wisdom and foresight to consider the political consequences of anything and base their verdict on it. Jurors are the dumbest people on the planet.

It has nothing to do with whether or not he did it, or if they were worried about riots. (?) It has everything to to do with the court system itself. It is the burden of the prosecution to prove it beyond a reasonable doubt. I watched the reinactment of the trial, and i wasn't completely convinced. Now when you watched Nancy Grace (that bitch gets on my nerves!) Fox News, or even MSNBC he seemed to be guilty on every count.

The problem with 24 hour a day court coverage is that the accused is tried and sentenced with out the protection of being innocent until PROVEN guilty. Their really was no hard evidence. Do I think he likes fondling boys...yes. Would I have voted guilty, probably not.

Just because a person is black, doesn't mean that they get away with anything. In fact the opposite is true.

The lawyers really go out of thier way to find the most mindless dimwits that they can easily influence. I hope my fate is never decided by a bunch of idiots on a jury.

I mean, what was the evidence? Really?

The word of a woman who most likely looked deranged on the stand? A kid who had lied in a previous courtroom setting to get money? The fact that Michael Jackson had pornographic material? Yes, he said he slept with kids, that's true, but there is no credible evidence to suggest he did anything sexual with them. There was a horde of witnesses to say the opposite, and only this one with a shady background to suggest otherwise.

What you have is weak circumstancial evidence coupled with unreliable testimony and nothing even approaching physical evidence. Acquital was almost a given for any jury.

They didn't vote not guilty because they wanted to prevent riots. That's absurd!
Where? In Santa Maria, where the trial was held? Dude, I've been there and
Santa Maria makes sleepy towns look like they're on crack, comparitively.
It seems to be all retirees, shredders and farm workers around those parts.
Santa Barbara? Riot because their DA nabbed Michael Jackson? Cha! As if!

They didn't let him off because he's rich.
He's not really all that rich, at least not anymore.
    Legal bills.

    Let off because he's black?
Have you seen a picture of MJ recently?

I think that sleeping in the same bed with 13 year old boys that aren't yours should be a crime.

Thirteen year old boys don't exist within a vacuum. They have mothers who are supposed to be in charge of such things as not allowing their thirteen year old son to sleep with middle aged men -- even if it's just sleeping, as Michael has claimed all along. As a parent myself, I can say without a doubt that this particular thirteen year old's Mom was not doing her job as a parent.

None of those listed have been convicted of any crimes. Except Martha.
So you're saying that if Martha had been black she would have got off?

Being naive enough to think that when using the words "sleep with children"
people wouldn't think of anything improper other than him and said 'children'
REALLY sleeping, rather than whatever their sick minds conjured from the phrase.

since when does the police being after you make you guilty?since when do charges mean guilty? the lynchmob mentality is still alive in america. it amazes me the stupidity of the american people to continue to believe everything they hear or read in the news. anyone with access to mainstream media can ruin someone that doesn't. cops set people up everyday. our prisons have been proven through dna to be full of innocent people. people charged of sex crimes have their names and pictures splashed over every form of media and are tried and convicted and ruined before they ever get to court. i can't stand jackson or o.j. but, they were found innocent just as thomas jefferson and our forefathers intended. you better pray that you never get accused.

juries are definitely manipulated. it's obvious to most intelligent people and all poor people that the whole system is corrupt. police pressured into making 100% collars are grabbing whomever they can to make to look guilty and prosecutors back them up. congress just keeps passing laws and the supreme court jesters keep expanding those laws. you get about as fair a trial in america as you would china. the only difference is in china they screw you openly and publicly. in america it's divide and conquer. that constitution means nothing without the bucks to defend yourself. as a whole we have rights but, when "they" want you for whatever reason. it's you against a badge on a dark street or nowadays your living room. the police have nothing but, time. they'll pick you out and surveil you. they'll lie, plant stuff, turn your neighbors and employers against you with their ever presence. the police are after you. you must be guilty. if michael wanted to feed a pedophile appetite, he's got the money to go where that stuff is sold.

you don't get it do you? i'm not defending him. the point i made is true and what you're talking about is another case. it probably is why he got accused again. for our system to work sometimes the guilty go free. if you make the system all in favor of the gov't....i.e. 100% convictions then, you're going to have a lot of innocent people in prison or dead. take your pick. michael,o.j. going free or everyone accused going straight to jail. this country is leaning towards the ladder more and more everyday because of the thought processes of people like you.

    I don't get it...

Why couldn't they at least bust him for providing alcohol to a minor if nothing else?

That alone would have been enough to be put on his record, get him some punishment and not have to deal with the headache of finding him guilty of child molestation as well as trying to punish him properly enough.

The lesser offense would have got him at least some community service, and folks wouldn't feel like they were so betrayed by the courts that he got away scott free. Even a month of jail-time and probation would do a lot to smooth things over while not ending the jerk-off's life as completely as a molestation conviction would have. Win-win really.

We really need to get rid of the semantic loophole in being able to enter a not guilty plea. Innocent or guilty. No more of this "not guilty" bullshit. After all, I can break a law and not feel guilt over it allowing me to honestly answer that I'm not guilty. ;)

Ahh well, no one ever said life was fair. The system is broke and it isn't going to be fixed any time soon.

So you're saying that it's the mother's fault that Micheal Jackson slept with the kids?

If you send your kid out to go to the store in the worst part of town at midnight and he gets shot, you can't be to blamed for the shooter's actions.

If they could have proven it without "reasonable doubt".

A look at the biography of this family, conflicting stories, and other problems leaves a hole wide open for reasonable doubt. Sure, Jackson's a nut, but this family was nutty, too. And the only witnesses are the other nutty folks, and no substance tests were performed in time to prove it.

Do I believe Jackson did it? Yup. But a gut reaction simply isn't enough. There is a lot of space for reasonable doubt, and where doubt is you've got to let them go. The prosecution bungled it and possibly shouldn't have even taken it to court. No evidence, no case.

Micheal Jackson has been and always will be a molester.
Not having enough evidence to convict doesn't mean that he's innocent. It means that he paid alot of money for people to keep quiet. If he were some jobless booger-eating moron the outcome would have been way different. But he's Micheal Jackson. And a celebrity of his caliber will never be convicted of anything because of his fame.
Jury misconduct may have played a part. There were already a few people on the jury that claimed that they wanted to write books about the trial when it was over. And there was a woman on the jury that admitted sending her kids to neverland ranch when they were younger. That woman should have been removed from the jury to begin with. There was a conflict of interest right there.
But, oh well, who fucking cares right?
One more thing: Two celebrities getting off scott free cannot equate to everyone who is ever accused of a crime going straight to jail. one has nothing to do with the other. I would just like to see that those that actually (and obviously) did the crime do the time.
However,MJ couldn't possibly be sent to jail. There would be a riot over who would get to ass rape him first.

I'd fry that motherfucker personally for sleeping with my daughter in his bed... oh wait... that's right... he likes boys and technically it's not illegal to sleep with other people's boys in your bed.

I personally am happy they didn't convict him because the prosecution didn't really prove the charges and just imagine the doors that would open... prosecution no longer having to prove their cases. Shit. They barely prove them now.

I do wish that Jackson little boy, dick munching motherfucker would have a train run on his ass for the next twenty years but, they have to prove it.

One last note... I don't support the legal system but... if the politicians were to make a law I'd endorse... they could start with one about sleeping with other people's children. Again, a prime example of our taxpayer dollars hard at work.
