Hunter S. Thompson Kills Himself

Hunter S. Thompson, a pioneer of New journalism (or "Gonzo" journalism as he called it) died of a self inflicted gun shot wound to the head [link] Thompson was found in his home on Sunday by his son. Thompson is best known for his book, and resultant movie, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. The book chronicles his drug induced adventures in the city. He is also immortalized in Garry Trudeau's comic strip Doonesbury.
