Whats wrong with giving advice on how to live here unobstrusively? I'd rather illegals be unobtrusive than obtrusive. There's no third option whereby they stop immigrating entirely. The guide looks like its mostly educating about the lethal dangers of crossing over and how to avoid it. Its akin to cities passing out clean needles for drug addicts so as to provide a non-HIV-spreading method of drug use. Its not about condoning the behavior, just trying to curb the inevitable public health issues that come with it. Practical civic responsibility takes precedence. It would be pretty silly for Mexico to pretend like immigration to the US is not an issue they need to deal with.

but .. we also do a bang up job of importing them. I spent a bunch of time
in a small dirty down in mexico .. most of the people there wanted to get to the
US so they could have "social secuirty" I always thought that was funny as
our education system seems to breed the same desires.

The people don't wanna US citizenship, they wanna life in USA to get better jobs, better remuneration and maybe a better life.
Be a janitor in US is much more lucrative than be a low level administrator in mexico and others south-americans countries.
The immigration is illegal, I'm don't saying this is false. However why treat another people like junk just because they don't enforce all laws?

I just don't get it. If Mexico really wanted to help it's own people, then they should introduce some reform in it's civil services (if they happen to exist). People are coming to this country from mexico in droves, hell, they are even risking thier lives to get here. What's ironic about the whole situation is this: when they get here then all you hear from these bastards is how proud they are to be mexican-"iViva Mexico!" and all that nonsense. If mexico is so great then why don't they just stay there?

The reason people move to America from Mexico is so that they can get better jobs. They can get paid nicely for their work here. And so do big businesses, because they don't have to pay minimum wage on people that aren't in the US.

What that does is allow businesses to increase produce. This is supposed to create better jobs in upper management, unfortunately the people in the US who aren't well trained and should be doing the jobs that illegal immigrants take can't because the illegal immigrants take them.

Reforming their civil / social services won't help as much as eliminating their Socialistic economic policies and enacting better market reforms to include greater property rights and far fewer bureucratic hurdles for private business.

Vicente Fox is making some inroads in that regard, but they have a long ways to go.

What's so unobtrusive about 12 mexicans hauling ass down the street in a vehicle designed for four?
Or the long lines at the Social Security Office populated primarily with fence-hoppers looking for the free money they were told about ?
I also don't get how you can parrallel mexico's blatant permission for it's citizens to tresspass on american soil and get away with it with a municipal clean needle program. One of these things is not like the other, one of these things just ain't the same, Zoe.
A trespassing mexican dying in the dessert is not an American public health issue. It's a mexican health issue. The mexican 'government' needs to show some responsibility for it's people.
If I broke into your home and hurt myself doing it, should I sue you for it? Should you be the one to blame?

If you will go to many of the border towns along the Texas-Mexican border and talk to many of the people, they will tell you a story of their time of coming to the US to get "rich".

It did not work. They finally went home because they were Mexicans at heart and not Americans.
They did not make the money they expected, nor did they get the a "social security check" because they had been led to believe they would just put in for money and get a check each month.

Remember, they have a social security system. It is almost like ours. They found that $2.50 per hour, the going wage right now, is much less because of the cost of living in the US than they were getting in Mexico, Guatamala, etc.

They thought they had to have help coming across the border and they paid their life savings and family savings to get to the US and found out that they could have come themselves by coming across legally, but they did not realize they could do such a thing. So they sacrifice their entire working life just to get across the border.

If you have ever tried to obtain "legal justice" in Mexico. Give it up. You are an American and you will have hell getting justice. I will not go to Mexico or anywhere in South America for any reason. Not enought is offered to me to take even the slightest chance of problems with their legal systems.

Mexicos economy is dependent upon illegal and legal workers sending money back home. Their economy is a wreck because of bad policy such as high taxes, horrible corruption from all sectors of the government, and outright lazyness on the part of the mexican people to fix these problems.

It's simply in the Mexican government's best interest to support this policy of encouraging illegals, so long as we don't bitch slap them for doing it. After all, this has been going on since America and Mexico first existed. What they haven't thought of is that there is a limit to what we will put up with.

Mexicos government is corrupt as shit. A single state run oil company? Can you just smell corruption of a monopoly? Ever been in a mexican jail? The easiest way out is to bribe your way out. I know people who have done it, almost ended up there myself once. Fuck that country, I will NEVER return there. I've seen Mexicans dump their garbage by the side of the road. Mexico is a dirty, corrupt, poor, unhealthy shit hole, and it's the Mexican's own fault.
