School board shoots down gun photo

Blake Douglass posed with his shotgun in this photo he submitted for his high school yearbook. This innocuous picture which was taken with Blake in the traditional position wearing an oxford shirt, navy vest and holding the shotgun over his shoulder. [link] Last month the principal and the school board decided to ban the picture, citing the firearm was inappropriate. [link] Blakes family is preparing to fire back as they have enlisted the aid of the ACLU and the NRA to file suit. District policy requires that the photos "represent freedom of expression and diversity" of the students.

I read about that, don't other high schools have a archery team? or a marksmanship team? Can you pose with your bows or rifles then? What if you were in the lumberjack team, could you pose with an axe?

That school board is made up of a bunch of gun-o-phobic fags. And what's with the ACLU and the NRA working together? seems odd.

The ACLU supported Rush Limbaugh in his bid to make his medical records private.

The ACLU isn't necessarily a strong left or strong right organization.

Think of more important issue to get worked up about.
I saw the picture. It is an innocent picture of a guy.
It is not like he is wearing a big black trench coat and holding the gun in a firing postion.
What is the big deal???
