Picture Yakuza gangsters, pretty women, and a character list that somewhat realistically portrays characters that one might find in a comic book.
This one of the best foreign films that I have seen in a while. The film distributor is Kino films and the director is Katsuhito Ishii but that isn't what's important. What is important is that this film kicks ass!!! [

If you're into the whole Natural Born Killers and Quentin Tarantino type trip, you're in for a ride with this gig. True, the movie is in japanese, but it does have subtitles in english as well as french, and is definitely worth it.
The meat: Samehada is the antihero responsible for stealing 100 million yen from his collegues (the Yakuza), and while making his escape, winds up with Toshiko, an attractive young woman who is also fleeing her possibly incestuous uncle. An unlikely paring, Both are fleeing and need each other's help. They develop a mutual feeling for each other, but like most American films, the ending isn't what you might expect. Some of the other fine points might be Samehada's ex cohort's abilities for example, one who has an uncanny ability to track people with his sense of smell and wears some pretty unusual leather clothing, another who can flip a car almost by himself and has a penchant for WW2 military jeeps. If I were to say this movie is entertaining, I wouldn't be saying the half of it... Check it out, you won't regret it!
