Six bucks for an EARLY show? Early shows here are only four... Normal showings are 6 something.

But in our theaters, the patrons don't have to hand crank the projector.

Keep in mind this movie is set 5 years after they escape the desert planet in which everyone except a girl pretending to be a bow on "his" period, a holy man with a bad accent, and of course Riddick, dies.

    Poor sentence construction, bad grammar.

    Can argue, can't write.

    -1, fanboy salivation.

It's hard to find a good Sci-Fi film these days. Looks like a cross between Dune and Blade II.

Pitch black was reasonably good, but this looks a lot better.
Also, is is the second film in a trilogy.

How is this film a sequel? This film is a spin-off if anything considering that the story from (I assume you people mean) 'Pitch Black' does not continue. It's just a character from that film being given it's own movie. Calling this film a sequel, or referring to 'Pitch Black' as the original, is akin to calling the 'Ewoks Battle for Endor' part two of 'Star Wars'.

Ok now I'm pissed. As I was typing a civil reply I spilt my fucking milk in my damned keyboard. So here goes fuckmo.

How many Jaws movies did they fucking make where the only character that was the fucking same was the motherfucking shark? How about A nightmare on elm street? How about Haloween or Friday the 13th?

For fuck sake, does it have to have a number fucking 2 on it to be a sequel? The story was based on the same character(s) of the original Pitch Black movie with a bit of referencing to it. IF they just wanted to make a non-sequel they would have fucking made the movie with Riddick while leaving out anything of the history in the previous movie. For example the bitch that bled and the damn Muslim.

    Got it fucktard?

Now why don't you go and suck a dick you fucking bitch.

Forgot to touch on the statement that the "Story" from Pitch Black doesn't continue. The fuck it doesn't! Riddick clearly has this little story going on 5 fucking years later and even gives the details of what is going on with the other characters.

    Go fuck yourself cum-bubble.

No actually, the story from 'Pitch Black' doesn't continue, considering that this new film doesn't involve a planet infested with light hating killing machines. As far as your other comments go, I can see that you like this movie a lot. So much in fact that you seem to have failed to notice that I didn't same I disliked it, I merely pointed out the fact that it isn't a sequel. It's a spin-off not a sequel, fact.

Now, may I ask when your anger management classes start? Someone with as much hostility as you just displayed clearly needs them.

The difference between a spin-off and a sequel is that in a sequel though the characters may change the basic storyline progresses from one film to the next, while in a spin-off a character from a different story is "spun off" into his own storyline.

Just saw this film a few weeks ago and I thought it was pretty good. It's hard to get a decent sci-fi movie these days and this covered most the bases.

Special effects/CG were great. Actors were good.

The prison planet surface chase scene was pretty cheesy. I was also let down by how much power you can release when the suffering of your entire race leaves your body, but otherwise, it was a good flick. 4 of 5 stars.

And to settle any debates: this film is a sequel and not part of a trilogy. Even if they make a prequel, its not a trilogy.
