The internet has made classification moot. Where once the government could control the information flow to influence their people as they wished, the free flow of information in modern times has removed their advantage - and they're slow to react by changing their policies or tactics. FYI - I found a web site that shows you how to take gov't declassified documents (with the numerous blacked out lines often associated with them) and fill in the missing lines with a high degree of accuracy.

If anyone is interested I'll post the link and instructions. Apparently a few computer geeks wrote a program that will figure out what is supposed to be there. Their error of margin in completly declassifying the famed August memo Pres bush got on 9/11 was something like 1 or 2%.
