Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical
Can't afford the kick-ass Logitech MX900? Need a new, precise, and cheap mouse? The solution may be in the hands of Microsoft: delivering you a mouse that could soon be in your hands.
A computer mouse is a device used to move the cursor, more commonly known as the pointer, across the desktop (or screen). A mouse is necessary for most of the newer computers, and considered a must to nearly all computer users. All mice perform the same basic task: pointing. But just like any other part of life, some perform better than others. The Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical is a mouse that has many features and is also available at a very reasonable price of just under twenty dollars; with the great features this mouse has, it is definitely the best mouse for its price.
The Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical mouse has a highly sensitive laser that it uses to track the movements that the operator sends by moving the mouse. Because of its accurate laser, it can produce a smooth and almost seamless movement of the cursor along the computer screen. The mouse was assembled by a maker that excels in fine quality hardware products: Microsoft. This product was designed by the same company that built the best ball-mice years ago and has now advanced their mice to compete with advancing technologies by using the new optical laser to get precision without the drag and weight that a ball left.
The optical laser used in this line of products is the “fastest, most accurate laser on the market” (Microsoft.com). Because of this product having the finest laser technology available, precision is guaranteed. This product, when compared to any other optical mouse by other companies, excels greatly and keeps a better “eye” on the surface it is placed on. When rapidly moving any other optical mouse side-to-side, it never fails that the non-Microsoft brand mouse will favor the left side of the screen. Unlike non-Microsoft brand mice, this mouse points exactly where it should point without a left-heavy lag, even when moving at high-speeds.
Besides its advanced laser technology, it also has various other features that make this mouse the best mouse. This mouse is equipped with five programmable buttons, one of which is also a wheel. The most common configuration for standard mouse today is a three button mouse with the center button also doubling as a wheel. Most consumers would call this type of mouse a “two-button mouse with a wheel”, but in reality, the wheel also functions as another button. Three buttons work decently for the computer commoner, but for anyone who games or surfs the web seriously, more buttons are needed. The side buttons that are offered on the IntelliMouse Optical are stock-set to move forward and backward when browsing through Explorer. These buttons are not too sensitive, but not too stiff either. Buttons that are not calibrated to a correct sensitivity often result in the button being clicked an excess amount of times to correct the mistake that it created.
Aside from browsing, gaming also requires these buttons. When fragging other players on a best-selling First-Person-Shooter (FPS), a mouse like this is necessary. The precision of the laser is needed to snipe off enemies from a distance that a movement as small as one pixel will result in a miss. The extra buttons can be programmed to do functions such as reload a weapon or enter a vehicle that can be used to turn the opposing force into road kill.
There are many types of computer users, and not all are right-handed. There are many left-handed users in this world and discrimination is a huge issue. This mouse was designed to fit comfortably in both the left and right hand. Comfort is also very important, because it is what people feel while using the mouse. If this mouse were to feel like a porcupine, nobody would use it, but this mouse is as comfortable as holding a childhood stuffed animal in your hand once again.
The price is very affordable, and the features are of such great number that this mouse is by far the best mouse on the market. It has the precision that would satisfy even a surgeon and the comfort that a massage therapist would recommend. Quality, features, and price all combine and have produced one of the best mice on the market today: The Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical.

They used to be LEDs and a camera tracking the movement by capturing images rapidly and comparing them to the previous ones.
Interesting. I wonder how many kids are going to go blind because of these new mice ;)
