While I'm glad someone has publicly said this, everyone else has been saying it for ever. The whole "I've bought more since I started downloading" thing may sound cliched, but for a huge amount of people it's the truth. Unfortunately for the RIAA et al, I think the things people are buying are different because of file sharing as people can now sample any type of music.

Yep,

People listen to it and are like, "holy fuck this sucks! Next!"

Their big money makers end up not making as much and the little known bands get the cash.

It's about time some littles bands get the cash instead of some over sampled hyped up no talent weiner flaunting their clothes instead of their music.

Although I do think its a little pretentious for a man to trek to another country and tie-dye their natural landscape, we must realize that the iceberg is a just giant piece of ice. The man is making a moral statement; he says nature belongs to us all. Essentially, his view of nature does not split from the Reverend's. However, his treatment of it does force a person to take a moral stance on how we should utilize nature. Should we use it for our own benefit and pleasure or should it be protected for its own sake? Should we have an anthropocentric or ecocentric approach to our use of nature?

His goldfish exhibit, if I remember, was also based on morals. He dared people to push the blender buttons to grind up a goldfish to see who would do it. It forces a person to make a moral choice regarding life and, by proxy, nature. I'm not sure whether he expected someone to really push the button - the individual involved probably had a sick sense of pleasure. However, these works of art necessarily force a person to take a moral stance. And, he succeeded.

Personally, I don't particularly like the color he used, and I think invading peaceful Greenland to ink their ice is a bit rude. But otherwise, I don't care.
