The Darkness - Permission to Land
The Darkness is a band that hails from England and are pretty innovative while at the same time exhibit a sounds that echos AC/DC.
I was up way too late once again and was frying my brain watching 3 am t.v. and drinking coffee when this band that just tripped me out came on the telly. They are a four piece band from England and I'll admit that my tastes vary alot when it comes to music but hey... I'm actually taking some time to write this up. I will guarantee you this. This is not a CD you will buy for just one song. No Way!!! With tracks like "I Believe in a Thing Called Love", "Get Your Hands Off of My Woman MothaF****", and "Growing on Me", you can't lose. There are also two or three more decent songs on this album that you'll dig.
Thing about these guys is.... vintage Gibson Les Paul/Marshall sound that just thrills you.... can't go wrong there and you're thinking what's so innovative about that? Well trip on the vocalist... that's what is so far out. This guy has my approval and apparently, he has even recieved death threats from people. Go figure.... the lyrics are pretty clean but some people??? Anyways... it was worth the time to check out for me and cool new music is always a cool thing. Besides... lots of cool stuff has come from across the pond and in this day and age there's just way to much and it's way too easy not to give a quick look and listen to.
