This story [
link] claims that the MyDoom worm is "a new front in a war waged by those who want to preserve the open-source Linux operating system." This was also posted on [
link] but I felt a need to post it here as an example of what I consider yet another case of irresponsible reporting.
The news media is supposed to report facts yet, in this example, the BBC Business group has fashioned a story based totally on circumstances and conjecture. I guess that what I'm really asking foobies is how do you filter what you read on the internet for the truth and do you have any ideas on how "news" reporting can be improved so it just provides the facts? Obviously, everyone here has their own personal built-in BS filter, but I'm wondering about ideas you guys have for something more universal to protect the idiots (like the people I work with) so they don't regurgitate stupid crap they heard the previous night to any of us at the watecooler the following day.
Kick the water buffalo in the nuts, then they won't talk crap to you anymore.
You should make them sign up on here. Then they can talk shit (like I did), get chewed out (like I did), and then learn how to argue better (like I hope I did). Rev and HP will let them know where it's at. That is if Rev and his cat aren't in jail. Where is that guy anyways?
