There styles are different because eminem presents his lyrics in a way that makes you want to feel sorry for him, like he is whining about something all the time. ICP presents their lyrics in a way that says that they don’t care about what people think. Sometimes their raps have messages involved and sometimes they are just being funny. Some people might not find the things that they rap about funny, but then again everyone has a different sense of humor. Also, I can’t see how you can form an opinion based on four songs that you heard off of one of their albums.

An earlier post asks how ICP's and Eminem's music styles a related. I believe the only way that they are is that they both rap, but from drastically different points of view. ICP rap on the basis of getting the Dark Carnival message across, and what better way to do that then music. They have been on this, shall we say soap-box for nearly ten years now and have yet to actually stop being popular.
Feminem on the other hand raps about his "hard life", trying to get pity from all those who listen to him while at the same time trying to sound hard. He likes to rap about, in my opinion, shit. I have heard all his albums, and actually own them, yes an ICP fan with Feminem records.
The overall lyric setup of the artists is also varying. ICP more often then not raps about things that are real, or issues that are big in society today, such as the afterlife, God, and much more. Feminem likes to rap about smacking bitches, putting wives at risk, killing kids and doing drugs. These topics are his mainstay, besides him being hard of coarse. Also the actual rhyme structure is very different, ICP's being very grounded, using each and every type of structure there is, while Feminem likes to rap "a line at a time".
Someone also stated that ICP likes to babble, but in argument the majority of there songs are completely coherent, unlike Feminem, who likes to rap fast and throw in the random lyric to "make a point", as he once said. All of these artists love to cuss, and that cannot be argued, but other then that they are very different.

ICP likes the afterlife, and things which are controversial.
Feminem prefers the, smack bitches approach, taking to the teenage audiences.

The ICP concerts are well thought out, and are meant to keep the interest of the fans while Feminems are the same over and over again. And yes i have been to both of these artists concerts.

lyrics do not make a style, my friend. you can find the same subject of a song throughout every genre of music. what i'm saying is, besides the difference in voices, the two artists sound the same. if you were to find a person who had never heard of either artist and let them listen to a few tracks off each, i'm sure they'd hear the similarities as well.

as for four songs not being enough to base an opinion off of... do you go and get an artists entire music history and listen to every one before deciding that you don't like them? most people listen to a whole or even half a song on the radio and decide they don't like it. i tried out four songs off of one CD. I even did a little research to find out what some ICP fans considered to be the best CD. I gave ICP more than the benefit of the doubt, and they still let me down.

Once again, this is your own music taste. But, I don't see how your own music tastes prove that ICP "sucks."
Just a thought, some of their funnier songs are: Super Balls, Fat Sweaty Betty, The Dating Game, Please Don't Hate Me, and many more. And if you want songs with meaning behind them, take a listen to: Behind the Paint, Fly Away, Halls of Illusions, Crossing Thy Bridge, and, of course, Chicken Huntin'. I think you'll find that, if you listen to these songs, that their music style is much different than that of eminem. I personally like all of their songs, but I think that these songs are the ones that best represent their style.

i just finished watching the "unveiling". it's 7 and a half minutes long. in the beginning they list the different "joker cards". then they say all that they've done is completely poop and that the only thing they care about is God. Me and my son were once close. When he started high school, he started listening exclusivly to ICP. I didn't mind because I figured "what's the harm"? He found a new type of friend in high school that also listened to nothing but ICP. These are Juggalos. They skipped school, smoked dope, and listened to ICP ALL day long. One day, I came home from work and he was stoned. I don't think it was his first time. I became angry because we always agreed that drugs were not welcome under our roof and I told him as such. I grounded him for the most tortuous two weeks of our lives. As time went on, he became closer to his friends and farther from his family. He smoked more dope (He started hanging posters in his room which I took down nightly) and spent more time with his friends and less at school. I felt totally helpless.

I eventually stopped one day to listen to one of his burned ICP cds and found that I was offended on two fronts; all (and I do mean ALL of the melodies were stollen not just from seventies funk songs, but also from OTHER RAPPERS!! I had heard all of this before by other groups (DOC, Ice Tea, Tupac as well as the Isly Brothers and EW&F). Secondly, they seemed to speak alot about using marijuana. When I came to him with what I heard, he said "You don't understand!!" and proceded to try to convince me that all ICP wanted to do was turn the world into one big love fest. Then he asked me for $120.00 to buy some ICP gear. It hit me like lightening that my son is being taken by one big marketing scheme. He is being sold a bill of goods by a group that doesnt really give a shit about him as long as they get paid. But he never saw it like that. When the school finally kicked him out for truancy, when he was fired from his job, when we finally had to kick him out of our home, his life still revolves around dope and ICP and his friends.

I see him sometimes and I look back to when he was just a kid. I miss that little boy but I don't think I will ever see him again. Just this ICP fan whose blind following of this rap group, followed by his loyalty to his Juggalos and continued drug use has made him less than what he could have been. I'm sorry this is so long. I guess I just had to get it off my chest.

OK...Well, I really don't wanna come on this site to diss anyone (even though I've already done it :p) LOL....So, ummm....I'm going to give you reasons that Juggalos like ICP....

Reason #1. Because the people that listen to ICP are the people that can relate...They may not be what most people would define as a "scrub" but the usage of scrub by Juggalos is a somewhat different definiton by others. They have at least a little bit of scrubbiness in them.

Reason #2. Believe it or not, there are some inspirational words and messages hidden in ICP's music...Such as the music on "The Wraith: Shangri-La".. The album is about doing well with God...and they're next album to be released, "The Wraith: Hell's Pit" is an album about the darkness of the very bottom pits of Hell...What THIS album is doing...is convincing people that Hell is no place to be....while their other albums are telling people what will happen to them if they go to Hell...and what the best way to get there is...That way, (hopefully) you can try to prevent it before it is too late.

Reason #3. It's flat-out entertaining! Sometimes, you wanna find a way to escape from the real world...and if you have thoughts of killing someone because you're so angry that you just feel like doing something that spontaneous (although you know that you wouldn't really kill someone). You could just listen to ICP and imagine doing it...

Reason #4. People say they suck, when MY personal definition of umm..."sucking" would be...not being successful whatsoever! However, both members of the ICP are successful!...They go on tours around the world, and have lots of people paying to come see them...they have so many fans that they can hold big events and have lots of people come.

Reason #5. They have hella love for their fans!! They hold annual events to bring all the Juggalos together...they include fun activities....and these guys are pretty nice people...for example, they held a food drive for the homeless and non-benificiary people. The money they got from their "Bizzar Bizaar" albums...half of that went to 2 or 3 different charites...

-They falsely believe that ICP conducts music, but in reality its just mind vomit sung by two fat people that make money off their mind fucked fans.

I am not one of the blind ICP-worshipping sheep that molds my being to the juggalo world. I have a well-paying professional job, I am educated, and I live out on my own, with no help from anyone. I have enjoyed ICP's music for a few years now , because 1)it appeals to my dark sense of humor and 2) they do have some positive messages in their music, and they do speak some truth about ghetto life. I spent quite a bit of time before getting my life together living in the ghetto and living the whole "thug" lifestyle, so I can relate to most of what they rap about. It just happens to be my personal preference in music.
