In a recent poll done in Arizona, it seems that only 34% of voters would give Bush a second term, 44% would prefer someone else, and 22% are undecided. [link]
What? No comment on th actual subject? C'mon people. Brittany Spears is not the president. Arizonians don't want to re-ellect her. Can we get back to the subject please? Yeah, thanks folks.
Since Arizona has only 8 electoral votes and has traditionally been a very conservative state and the "undecided" margin is huge... what is there to say about this poll?
I am tempted to question its accuracy, personally.
At this point it's way too early to worry about polls regarding the '04 election. The election is still 13 months away for crying out loud- and that's why 22% are undecided. It'll be another 6-8 months before the polls really mean anything.
The only polls worth noting right now are those concerning the Democratic candidates- and even then Clark's numbers are probably artificially high due to the initial buzz his candidacy has generated. Once the initial fascination wears off- not to mention attention drawn to his waffling and having been fired as NATO commander- his numbers will likely drop a bit unless he comes up with some serious campaign cash.
