In a related note, a recent poll shows that roughly 66% of americans feel the war is justified despite the lack of WMDs.

I still feel war was justified. I wish Bush's administration would have presented their case for war in a better way, but sometimes to get the mass idiots to be happy, you need to add in every little scenario.

The truth is regardless of whether or not saddam still was developing WMDs, he was still clearly in violation of UN rules, still slaughtering his own people, and DID sponsor terrorism (not directly, but I do recall him giving money to families of suicide bombers in Israel, which to me is sponsorship).

Everyone says the reason the US went in was over oil. I will admit that is one of the reasons. However, one of the reasons the UN didn't want us to go in was for the same reason. The UN was getting a nice chunk of change for "overseeing" the oil for food program. Also, France's main oil company was working on deals to drill Iraq's oil once the sanctions were lifted.

So here is my question: What is better:
    1. Having your oil stolen and living under Saddam who kills thousands of people a year
    2. Having your oil stolen but at the same time having someone who actually wants to give you your rights back?

Yes, war sucks and civilians die, but more people have died under saddams rule, and more people would have died had he continued to stay in power.

You read my mind on that one. I have said this many times before too on the various War on Iraq stories. :yay:!

I don't get everyone's problem on this one. Who cares if they have WMD or not? They have oil!

How about we actually wait for the real report, and not a "source" claiming that while the report will change, he feels certian parts wont. This is based on word of mouth at this point. Let the report come out, then start slamming.

"any WMD if ever they exsisted were shipped to neighboring nations..."

Umm... yeah, that could be very, very bad.

I've thought about that since day one, actually. Wouldn't it be easier for Saddam and Co. to sell them off to just about anybody right before or after the war?

I've said it before and I've said it again - by having any of the equipment for the production of WMD which we have found, he was in violation of Resolution 1441, and Resolution 668 I believe.

I think the worst case scenario is the above. He had them and sold them to any one of who knows how many groups or rouge states.

    Time will tell.

If they were exported, they probably went to Syria. Not only does Syria support terrorists, they are said to already have had thier own WMD's well before the war.

No, everyone else was clever enough to realise I was being somewhat sarcastic.

Someone please tell me if that 66% gave two shits about Iraq 3 years ago.

The only reason these much maligned peoples were liberated was because the jews and oil companies wanted it that way. Why do you think the chinese, Palestinians, half of Africa and Sth America still live under oppressive regimes. The whole world knows those countries who couldn't be threatened with WMD (Weapons of Monetary Deprivation) still haven't sided with the US. The decline in the US$ is a reflection of the worlds dismay. I believe the US did the right thing for the wrong reasons. The zionists treatment of the Palestinians is the key to global acceptance of US middle east policy. Those on Capital Hill should heed the warnings of George Washington because right now his warnings all those years ago could save the US.
