A couple / few years ago I was watching the Howard Stern show (my choices were limited at 2am and basic cable) and ICP were the guests.

They went on at length whining about being the "most hated band in the world". When asked why that was, they couldn't seem to fathom that it was because they're talentless posers; they just didn't get it.

The callers were all people who thought they sucked; ICP (the fat one did all the talking) went off on the callers, telling them they'd beat the ass of the caller if they were there. One caller- a black man- didn't like the fact they were perverting hip-hop and rap with their garbage, basically called them a bunch of sell-out posers who weren't so tough. The fat ICP singer goes off on how he's going to bet the caller bloody... and it turns out the caller ("Angry Black" for Howard Stern fans) was calling from a cell phone downstairs, and came up looking to take on ICP in a fistfight. The look on the ICP's faces was priceless- an "oh shit... what do we do now?", scared kind of look. IMMEDIATELY, the fat ICP guy backs down, saying they're just entertainers, and he doesn't want to get in legal trouble, etc. Angry Black kept reminding fat ICP boy how just 5 minutes ago he promised that he'd beat his ass if they met on the street; he offered to meet him out in the alley or wherever he liked, but of course ICP went from tough ghetto-wannabes to scared poseurs in about 10 seconds flat.

You had to see it to appreciate it- it was hilarious.

Facts:

1) The Inane Clown Posse is made up of two brothers that changed their style from rock to rap because of Emenem's success.

2) The ICP advocates lacing Faygo soda with heroin so their fanbase (made up largely of 14 year-olds) won't get in trouble with their parents.

3) Bruce Utsler (the tall one) once had homosexual relations with an underage goat.

Here's a funny story not many of you might know about.
Several years ago, ICP was out on the town (after having released their second full length album), when a kid came up to him and handed them a flyer. It was a flyer for an upcoming show and some unknown white rapper (Eminem) was headlining. At the bottom of the flyer, it said ICP might show up to perform. So, that just goes to show how wrong you are.

Not to speak out of turn, but usually a change in music preference is not enough to turn a kid as drastic as your describing. I would think there is something more involved here, such as new friends, new influences. I would not think the music as a catalyst, but more of an effect. Ummm... those lyrics aren't from ICP or any other group on Psychopathic Records. ICP has never geared a song about suicide, or have they ever told juggalos to go and commit suicide. As for those lyrics, maybe it's your son trying to express himself. No idea.

(at least he still has the same friends to our house and asks to go to their house) I too have known these boys for years and they seem to be good kids when they are around me. I'm not sure who he hangs with at school as most of his friends are not in the same classes...
His grades are about the same as always, although, I just got his report card yesterday and he did make a 74 in one class but was told that teacher had been out alot this year and the whole class was very confusing due to that fact...He is generally on the honor roll, all the other classes were this semester were either A or B...

No disrespect- especially since I'm not a father myself- but is it possible that your son is just acting...15? He would hardly be the first 15 year old to "rebel" by listening to music his parents disapprove of, nor would he be the first to undergo attitude changes.

Don't fall into the tempting trap of blaming a band- even one as bad as ICP- for any changes he may undergo; most likely his musical tastes are a symptom- rather than a cause of- what's going on at a difficult age.

Posting in this thread you are not going to get a serious debate. This thread has turned into an all out flame war. Your best bet if you want to seriously give an arguement for ICP, is sign up for the site, and post a forum topic. Maybe even write a long arguement and post it as a feature (Features have to be well written, and editted, before you submit, just a warning). There are lots of options opened for you, but an ICP fan has yet to lay out a counter arguement and had it stick yet. Usually their own fans sabatosh it with "Fuck you, Im gonna split your wig". I do realize that 15 is a hard year and rebellion usually happens at some point, some children earlier, some later but it don't appear that he is listening to this bands music because I disapprove of it. I haven't actually did any disapproving. I am just in the process of listening to this bands music to see exactly what there might be to disapprove of, if anything.
I want my son to spread his wings and be his own person but on the other hand being his only parent (his dad passed away in 1995) I must do what I feel is best for him.
I'm in no way saying ICP is the sole reason for my son's attitude change. I do think it was the icing on the cake.
At this point I have no clue for his change in attitude besides the fact that he is growing up and testing the waters, which I know is normal. But the way he has chosen to do this is totally unacceptable and must be stopped.
I have questioned my son about the lyrics he wrote and he said it was just entertainment, just a song, but those words he wrote on that paper is a cry for help in my opinion and I have heard and I have listened and I am responding.
I do not think I "went wrong" in raising my son, I am still in that process. As long as I KNOW I have done everything in my power to raise him correctly then I will have no regrets regardless of who or what he becomes later in life.

So I use AOL and I'm 17... I'll kick your ass on a bass guitar and I can hit all the notes way better than Violent-poo-gas. Selling records does not denote good quality. Simple observations can reveal that the majority of consumers don't actually think, especially not before making any purchases. I quite enjoy that so many people with IQs in the high hundreds are taking time to post on Kung Foo and with such bad grammar. I highly doubt that any of you understand what an IQ number exactly means (Bull-fucking-shit your IQ is 244. Stephen Hawk is only 208 last I heard.)
