Besides, all this says is that we MAY not be like neanderthals...one group of scientists flying against almost 200 years of research does not mean anything yet...it takes a long time for things to be officially adopted by the scientific community and one set of tests are not the way it happens.

Whether we're related to Neanderthals or not doesn't alter the validity of evolution. It simply means modern humans didn't evolve from that particular genetic line. Paleoanthropologists have discovered several clearly distinct branches of human evolution, some of which (like the Australopithecus aethiopicus line) diverged from other Hominid lines but continued a simultaneous development apart from ours before becoming extinct. Neanderthals were most likely another strain that broke off from the herd and died on this genetic plain of development.

Evolution does not occur in a linear fashion. It is ongoing and experimental; some variances will create future iterations in our genetic pattern, others will wither on the vine and die off. It's Nature's way of adapting to its environment in the best way it can.

There is a HUGE difference in BELIEVING that God created man, and having FAITH in God, as was already mentioned.

My own personal beliefs ally closest with deism. It's the belief that there IS a God, but that he does not interfere with our lives, doesn't need us to worship him, etc. He simply created Earth and the universe and set it on it's merry way, like a watch maker does a watch. I can still believe in God in that sense, and still firmly believe in evolution.
