Boy, two fast food related posts in one day! Following a year long protest against Burger King for their animal slaughtering practices, PETA has decided to throw in the towel - and endorse BK. Why you ask? Well, the BK execs wised up and made history by offering up the first vegetarian sandwhich by a major chain, and the PETA people couldn't be happier. [
link] "Put down their protest signs and put on their bibs." reads the PETA site, and now, rather than using people in cow suits to protest Burger King, PETA is using their bovine dressed supporters to carry around signs saying "Try the Veggie Burger!". Oh the irony...
If they ever expect to actually make progress, they ought to try to find some cohesion with the left movement. Another instance of poor taste to me: putting together a catalog of clothing products/brands that do not feature animal products, and including Nike sneakers. What's worse, a slab of suede on the heel, or paying children doodley squat to work in dungeon factories? Why put up with either?
PETA is vegetarianism/veganism for the upper middle class who have no concept of how their lifestyle fits into the real world.
